Doug Blakie has been playing drums for 40 years in and around NZ and Australia. He is currently playing in a Timaru band called " The Coyotes" with legend Red McKelvie.
He has been in the backing band in Gore for the last 12 years in two groups , The Southern Alps Showband and "Tightazz" . He has backed a huge array of artists at The Caroline Bay Carnival and other gigs.
Doug loves all types of music and has been enjoying his trips to the Bay of Islands Festival working with the likes of The Hantler Family, Tami Neilson, Marian Burns,Vicky Millar, Craig Burns, Noel Burns and several other artists.
He works under the theory "That Less Is More" when drumming ... and is looking forward to this year's festival!!!!
Wendy Thornton is one of New Zealand's top keyboard players, and can be found backing many of New Zealand's top country rock acts.
