Whether she is singing the blues or rapping rhymes, Saelyn's voice effortlessly flows from soulful to edgy. As she shares songs about love, the land and a few bad habits in between, her warm tone has a genuine quality that is as honest as her words. Saelyn's stripped back acoustic set shows a fresh and raw approach to songwriting. Saelyn resides in the Far North where she is working on her forthcoming album due for release in 2015.
With her original songs Saelyn has opened for internationally acclaimed kiwi soulstress Hollie Smith, reggae legends the Herbs, Katchafire and Cornerstone Roots, Ardijah, Six60 and Mihirangi.
Saelyn grew up singing country music and in 2010 won the prestigious NZ Gold Guitar competition. This lead to the opportunity to co-host a country music series on Maori TV with NZ country music star Dennis Marsh in 2013. http://www.mycountrysong.co.nz/
