W.D.(Bill) Chapman - Linedance Instructor and DJ

The first professional Linedance Instructor in New Zealand, Bill commenced teaching on a part-time basis in 1992, becoming a full-time instructor in 1993.

He has run a number of the earliest "workshops" in New Zealand and has travelled to workshops, competitions and linedance events around the world. Bill has taught at workshops in the United States, Australia, Hong Kong, Hawaii and Norfolk Island and here at home in New Zealand, also judging in numerous Linedance competitions here in New Zealand and in Australia.

He has also sponsored international choreographer/instructors Neil Hale, Hedy McAdams and Terry Hogan on New Zealand tours.

Bill has been DJ'ing linedance events and socials for almost as long as he has been teaching and is, by now, a rather familiar face as a dance DJ to the many linedancers who have been attending the Bay of Islands Country Rock Festivals over the years, a role which he thoroughly enjoys and looks forward to continuing this year.
