Shaskeen Reel current line-up consists of brothers Rob and Dennis Green, Geoff Notman and Mark Corbett.
The combined experience of Shaskeen Reel is considerable. Rob and Dennis have been singing and playing Irish Music since the halcyon days of the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem back in the ‘60’s while Geoff has been involved with various aspects of Celtic Music for most of his life. Mark Corbett is the latest recruit on bass and comes from a rock, blues and country background.
One of the highlights for the band was singing the Irish Rugby Anthem when the All Blacks played Ireland in New Plymouth in June 2010. And in 2008 they played at WOMAD to a rousing reception.
In Shaskeen Reel you will find a group of exciting and first-class musical ability.  It is hard to fully characterise and label this talented bunch of musicians. Whether you label them as Celtic, Irish, New Trad, Rock Trad or Folk, the strength of the music with tremendous harmonies and toe-tapping rhythms are to the fore. Their enthusiasm and infectious good craic are all part of what attracts audiences to their sound.
