Lynda Innes

Lynda InnesLynda Innes is from Tauranga and has been a constant performer on the country music scene in New Zealand for the past 20 years. She is particularly well known for her choice of up-beat country music, although she has been known to perform the "slower" songs from time to time.

Lynda comes from a family of entertainers - her mum is still singing well at the age of 90. Lynda first sang in a competition at the age of five and has been on stage ever since.

Lynda has realised her dream to focus on her country music career, achieving good results in various awards, and establishing herself as a popular guest artist at country music clubs throughout the country.

In 2004 she produced her first CD "Now or Never" and this has proved to be a popular and steady seller. Lynda’s second CD “Classic Country Favourites” – featuring well known classics “Coalminer’s Daughter”; “Harper Valley PTA”; “Blanket On The Ground”; and others – is also proving to be very popular. Lynda is at present working on two more CDs.

Lynda also performs at Country Music festivals here in New Zealand, as well as overseas. Charity concerts also play a big part in Lynda’s life.

Lynda regularly gigs at service clubs (RSAs and the like) throughout New Zealand, and at private functions – weddings; birthday parties; Christmas  get-togethers etc. Lynda's highly supportive husband, Ross, is the best roadie and chief stage hand.

Lynda has had the good fortune to be able to sing at various venues in Australia and a highlight was singing at a country music festival in Cairns in 2006, with the Sunny Cowgirls.

Lynda also writes songs, both the lyrics and the music, and she has found the most inspirational place for doing this is sitting on her bed, guitar in one hand and pen and paper in the other.

Although no longer an awards entrant, Lynda has been a judge at various awards over the years, and is particularly keen on encouraging young talent.
